Omg my dad had this game and I messed with it as a kid without ever understanding what I had.

Find that copy! 😁

It’s definitely more complex than most kids games of the era. The rulebook is written like a modern ttrpg rulebook.

It's a shame that they never released the expansion that included the Superelf and Superwizard.

Dude - cool newsletter edition! I ALWAYS wanted this game as a kid and still have yet to play it. Was tempted a few times in the past could years to get the D&D cartoon version of it with Hank and crew.

I think I found it! The 1990 edition of TSR's Fantasy Forest included figures of the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon characters! I'm writing about the 1982 edition this week and happened to see some photos on BGG and thought your comment!

That's what I was remembering! There were D&D cartoon figurines!

There's a D&D cartoon edition?! Are you sure? I don't see it listed on BGG.

Hmmm, maybe I'm conflating that with the "Quest for the Dungeonmaster" board game. I'll have to check!

Yup, definitely conflating! Darn it - now I've got to buy 2 board games!
