Exploring how the divide and choose ("I cut. You choose.") mechanism in Pacts from DVC combines with area control to create tough choices and meaningful decisions.
a fascinating read as always :D love the themeing of the game, and the central "I cut. You choose" mechanism seems just beautiful, reading your description even gave me the chills ^^ (incidentally, i first wrote "gave me" as "game", which would have been a really fun association-based typo ^^) the odd number of cards, the one second-player token, and then all the different kinds of things different cards can allow you to do... just beautiful :) i also do love a good hard choice – probably part of why i love PbtA and related 'schools' of games, for their move outcome choice lists and/or character creation picklists :)
I just happened upon a demo of the game at the DVC booth (PAXU) and instantly was impressed by it. Definitely does a lot with a small box of simple components, which I appreciate more and more these days.
Tussie Mussie is one of my favorite versions of this simple, elegant mechanic. Hargrave spoke about how she came to write it at last year's PAX. Everything Button Shy does is so cool. Sorry I missed you, I coulda used a free sticker lol
Working at PPPITPPP (peter piper pizza is the pizza people pick) we had this rule to always cut the pizza in same size slices, because we wouldnt want a party of friends to get into a debate and then go settle it in the arcade

Thank you for the kind words!

TM does a lot with just a few cards. I definitely enjoyed giving it a try.
It's so hard to meet up and/or see people at PAXU. Never enough time. But I'll be there again next year!
Please tell Murphdog to expect my response to Footnote 4 by EOD.
She awaits your communication.
