The latest issue of TUMULUS is shipping now, including creative inspiration for dungeon crawls, pub dice games, locks, keys, depth crawls, weird flora, and a bug hunt from Skeleton Code Machine.
Just discovered this! Iβm curious if the book contains exclusive content or is it all collected posts from the blogs? A βbest ofβ quarterly, if you will. Thanks~
It's a mix, but mostly original content that has not been published before. Issues 01, 02, and 03 have all contained two (2) "best of" articles that were previously published at Skeleton Code Machine. I do edit/modify them slightly and may add exercises at the end.
The rest of the issues are new articles, playable game mechanisms, or puzzles written by me. Recent issues have had original contributed pieces from other notable designers as well (e.g. Jesse Ross, M. Allen Hall, Hinokodo, etc.).
While there is no hard fixed format for each issue, it is highly unlikely I'd ever include more than two previously-published Skeleton Code Machine articles in a future issue. My focus is on new and original content.
Hopefully that helps! If you do decide to subscribe before September 1, Issue 03 will be your first of four issues.
